The main challenge in 3D scanning of the teeth is cross-contamination: in order to check the 3D scan on the screen and manipulate it (requires several times during the scanning process), the dentist has to remove the gloves (so no germs are transferred to the screen), leave the scanner and approach the screen. This makes the process extremely lengthy and complicated.

Taga has developed a unique physical-digital solution: integration of a touch pad on the scanner itself, allowing the dentist to manipulate the 3D scan on the screen from the scanner itself, while it is in the patient’s mouth.

On the screen itself, the 3D scan appears as large as possible, while all the icons, menus and graphic elements appear only when needed, and floating above the scan. The icons designed by Taga UX were selected following a thorough research among dentists, to ensure that all dentists will be able to easily understand the icons and easily operate the scanner.
